This
recently competed in the Rebelle Rally by Honda R&D Americas (HRA) associates Ariel Jen and Melanie Morimoto. The rally is an all-women navigation rally that runs 1,700 miles across eight days in California and Nevada. The drivetrain, from the engine to the all-wheel drive system, was completely stock. Modifications include skid plates, lifted ride height, aggressive tires, and an interior modified for additional storage equipment and spare tires.
The
TCR is a race-ready version of the Japanese automaker’s hottest hatch. This car, driven by Ryan Eversley, won the inaugural TCR championship in the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Eversley had five wins and 11 podiums in 12 races. In this application, the Type R’s 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four makes
horsepower and sends power to the front wheels through a six-speed sequential manual with a JAS twin-disc sintered-metallic clutch. The car packs upgraded suspension and brakes, too.
A few other cars Honda is bringing include the new Insight, a Honda-powered F3 Americas open-wheel race car and a Honda pedal car. The latter is 47 inches long, 24 inches high and 22 inches wide and uses carbon fiber in parts of the bodywork. The pedal car has a lithium-ion battery to power the lights and recharge things like smartphones.
Honda Powersports is bringing some two-wheeled offerings to SEMA, including a pair of models that are coming back to America after a long break. At its booth, you’ll see a 2019 CRF450R Works Edition, a 2019 CRF450L, a 2019 Super Cub C125 ABS, a 2019 Monkey and a 2018 Africa Twin Adventure Sports.
