Volkswagen may be late to the crossover party, but it intends to make a grand entrance in 2017 when a new midsize crossover and the redesigned Tiguan arrive in the U.S. VW will follow with a subcompact crossover to compete with the Honda HR-V and Jeep Renegade and is studying a coupe-style derivative of the midsize cross-over by the end of the decade. Beetle: VW development boss Heinz-Jakob Neusser confirmed that the Beetle would live for another generation, quashing speculation that slow sales may have consigned the iconic nameplate to the chopping block.
