Pricing and options for the A5 family have now been announced in Canada, which means that Canadians can finally configure the A5 of their dreams.
With prices starting at $46,350 for the six-speed manual (!!!) 2.0 TFSI and rising all the way up to $76,600 and beyond for the eight speed automatic, six cylinder S5 Cabriolet there’s an A5 for all tastes.
With up to 14 colours available for the A5 coupe and sportback (fewer on other models), you’re sure to get the one that suits you best. Or, you can do what configurators were designed to do and make the most hideously garish car conceivable—no easy feat with the A5, but still possible.
Power starts at 252 hp for the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter A5 and goes up to 354 hp for the 3.0-liter S5 Coupe. That figure gets the S5 sportback to 60 in just 4.5 seconds, which makes it the fastest car in its segment.
While the eight-speed trans’ should be good for keeping you in the power band whatever your speed, its work won’t be especially difficult, because the new turbocharged six makes all of its torque from 1,370 to 4,500 rpm. That said, it’s all irrelevant, because the six-speed manual is the correct choice.
Along with the wealth of colours available, Audi offers a range of 18 and 19-inch rims, many of which are unfortunately only available on the un-manual S5s.
