Audi Ingolstadt Plant Halts Production of A4 and A5

Production of the A4 and A5 at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant will halt until Thursday of this week, due to a parts shortage following a fire at a supplier.
The part causing the stoppage is front wall cladding, according to Automotive News, who also report that the Ingolstadt plant produces 1,400 A4 and A5 models per day.
Fortunately, Audi also makes the cars at its Neckarsulm plant, where production has not been affected. Audi’s Ingolstadt plant also produces the A3, Q2, and Q5 models, but production of those models has not been derailed by the parts shortage.
The work stoppage will impact 8,500 workers at Audi’s Ingolstadt plant, which employs about 43,000 people.
