2016 World Rallycross Champion and long-time Audi driver Mattias Ekstrom today revealed the livery of his 2017 Audi A1 RX a week ahead of the season opener in Barcelona.
The first images of the rallycross car appeared on Twitter today, sporting a new, albeit new livery. If it ain’t broke.

The new liveries feature more blue, as well as a white roof for Ekstrom’s car and a red roof for returning teammate, Toomas Heikennen. A third black and white car will be driven by Latvia’s Reinis Nitiss.
The cars race under the Team EKS banner, a team owned and operated by Mattias Ekstrom who only got factory support from Audi this off season. The move came amid calls from Ekstrom, who said that without factory backing another championship would be impossible.
Ekstrom has been racing with Audi’s DTM team for a decade and a half now, and this year says that he wants to win his third championship title in that series.
Meanwhile, and in many cases concurrently, Ekstrom will be fighting to defend his FIA World Rallycross title, during that 16 race season, starting on March 31 and going on to November.
