There are certain moments in life you remember forever. The first time you met your spouse, your first car, your first dog, and for me, the first time I ever tracked a McLaren. It was a sunny day at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan, and while the video shoot was taking a break, I grabbed the keys for a few laps. Up until this point I had only ever tracked sports cars, Mustangs, Camaros, Miatas, that sort of thing. This was completely different. I was able to push the car further than anything I had ever driven before, and still feel confident while doing so. The acceleration threw me back into the driver’s seat, but my favorite part was how powerful the brakes were. You could dive into corners knowing that the brakes would be there to spit you out the other side, and off you were again. An experience like that is unforgettable. And you can have that experience every day for the rest of your life thanks to Omaze.

Check out what we said about the McLaren GT in our first drive:

“A claimed 0 to 60 mph time of 3.1 seconds impresses as the revs climb toward redline. Though power runs through the same dual-clutch seven-speed transmission as McLaren’s Sport Series cars using the same final drive ratio, the gearbox shifts a bit more smoothly in this application, more closely resembling a fluidly actuated torque converter than a back-slapping speed shifter. It can sometimes feel like the turbos need a moment to spool up when you drop the accelerator at low rpm in a tall gear, but once it builds boost, the GT surges ahead with breathtaking eagerness. The GT’s docility means its rapid accumulation of speed can be disarming. Top speed is 203 mph, and there’s no doubt that the GT can devour great lengths of tarmac in scant amounts of time.”

The best part? The proceeds from this raffle go to charity, so when you’re driving down the street in your new McLaren, you won’t have to worry about feeling guilty, because you helped a good cause, specifically, NEXT for AUTISM, “a nonprofit organization that creates and funds innovative programs to improve the lives of people with autism and their families. Since 2003, NEXT for AUTISM has taken risks with bold ideas, launching and supporting promising programs across the country. It has funded educational, clinical, and recreational initiatives, in addition to building two charter schools, a diagnostic and clinical center, a teacher-training program, after-school programs, employment programs, and a residential services program that empowers adults to live within their communities.

If that doesn’t make you want to throw your hat into this raffle, then maybe this will, for the holiday coming up, Omaze is offering an additional 50 free entries into whatever raffle you’d like.
