MTM Taking 800 HP R8 to Geneva

The Geneva Motor Show starts next week and along with the OEMs, tuners are getting in on the action. MTM is the latest tuner to send out pictures of its offerings and they do will be showing Audi some love.

MTM is bringing a supercharged R8 and a specially prepared RS3 LMS, as well a Porsche Boxster S and Bentley GT Coupe Birkin Speed Eight.

The MTM R8 started life as a V10 Plus then had an Eaton TVS2300 screw-type supercharger bolted to it. The result is 800 hp and about 525 lb-ft of torque at 5,100 rpm.

To cope with the extra pep in its step, the R8 has been given new, wider dancing shoes. New Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires have been added at all four corners, with 245/30 20s up front, and 305/30 20s in the rear. But that’s not all. A new carbon aero kit is under development and will be in the MTM catalog later this year.

With just the tires and the supercharger, though, the R8 gets to 62 mph in just 2.6 seconds and will get to 124 mph (200 km/h) in just 8.5 seconds.

The RS3 LMS, meanwhile, has been prepared for Niko Kankkunen, who plans to race in the German ADAC TCR Series. Niko is the son of legendary rally champion, Juha Kankkunen. Unfortunately TCR regulations mean that the 330 hp RS3 can’t be modified all that much, but the the car has inspired MTM start work on a roadgoing version.

With the road car’s 500 hp 5-cylinder engine, an upgraded chassis, and an aero package designed to mimic the LMS, the “homologated” car is sure hit blistering speeds on the road and the track.

The Bentley, meanwhile gets about 200 extra horses and a wide set of wheels of its own (10.5″x22″ Bimotos) and the Boxster S gets about 50 more hp, but puts it to good use. With 285/35 20s mounted to the back, it can hit 62 mph in just 3.8 seconds.
