Four R8s to Take on the 24 Hours at the Nurburgring

Two teams will field four Audi R8s LMS at the 24 Hours at the Nurburgring in May. That means that 12 drivers, half of whom have won the race at one point or another, will be depending on Audi’s supercar to take them to victory.
Among the drivers is three-time Le Mans winner, Marcel Fassler, as well as Christopher Haase, Christopher Mies, Nico Muller, Rene Rast, Frank Stippler, and Markus Winkelhock, all of whom have taken the checkered flag at the Nurburgring’s day long race.
The drivers will be driving either for Audi Sport Team Land or Audi Sport Team WRT and all have extensive experience in GT3, Le Mans, or DTM, and many owe that experience to Audi.
“We’re poised for fierce competition with a strong line-up,” said Chris Reinke, Audi Sport customer racing’s head honcho. “In addition, we’re again expecting several customer teams to be competing in the Audi R8 LMS this year.”
