Mid-size pickup madness is thoroughly upon us with the return of the

Ford Ranger

, but

Chevrolet

has a

couple

special edition

Colorados

for the 2019 model year now, too. One is a street-focused RST model (pictured in white), and the other is an awesome off-road-focused Z71 Trail Runner (blue).

We’ll start with the Trail Runner. This truck starts off life as a normal Z71-equipped Colorado, but adds the

ZR2’s

underbody protection, which includes stamped aluminum front and mid skid plates and rocker protection. To give it the proper rubber for off-roading,

Chevy

fitted Goodyear Duratrac tires as well. It’s no

ZR2

, but the pickup will have a little more off-road cred now.

Chevrolet Colorado Z71 Trail Runner

If you’re looking for a truck with more street presence, then Chevy released a special edition Colorado RST for that too. This one is mainly an appearance package for the LT trim Colorado. It starts with a huge flow-through “Chevrolet” lettered grille — the Trail Runner gets the same grille. Then Chevy adds a bunch of blacked out trim for the beltline, body side moldings, tailgate bowtie and RST badging. You can tack on black 20-inch wheels if those fit your fancy, too.

The range of Chevy RST branded products are expanding pretty rapidly these days. Now there’s a version for the

Tahoe

,

Suburban

,

Silverado

and Colorado.

We might be a bit partial to the off-road stuff, though. Chevy didn’t mention pricing or availability for the 2019 Colorado special editions, but it shouldn’t be a long wait for either.
