For the second time in as many years, Audi is top of the class in Consumer Reports’ latest Brand Report Card.
Audi (with a score of 81) finished the year ahead of Porsche (78) and BMW (77) for an all German top three. Meanwhile, Lexus (77) and Subaru (74) both slipped this year to round out the top five.
Audi beat out 30 brands tested in the Consumer Reports test. Its place as top brand was determined on the basis of performance tests, reliability, owner satisfaction, and safety.
Among the Audis singled out for praise was the Q7, which Consumer Reports calls the highest rated SUV they’d tested in recent memory.
“Despite its generous size, the Q7 has genuine agility, with road-hugging chops, a settled ride, and excellent brakes for rapid stops,” writes Consumer Reports. “Sure, it’s pricey, but it’s also rich in rewards.”
